about
I'd wanted to start recording myself for many years but had always been nervous about doing so. It wasn't until 2014 that I finally worked up the courage to record and listen to myself. So with that big first step out of the way, it was time to start on a music project. But what song? At the time, I’d recently been listening to the Kaito mu-cho remix of “Alice” on an almost daily basis when I realized just how close to home the lyrics were hitting. So I knew then that I had to work out and express these feelings in the best way I know how…
A long time ago
In a tragedy
If ever comes a day
That I should go away
In a forest deep
I will sink like a stone
From that moment on
I will go on alone
Feeling the warmth
In the hands that we hold
If ever comes a day
They should gently unfold
*A hollow bell will sound
Echoing on its own
From that moment on
You will go on alone
For we are two of a kind
When we walk, we are one
The sound of lies being told
Disappears with the sun
When we both bow our heads
We are a single shadow
Didn't you know that I
Am going on alone?
I fell into love of a gentle kind
With a flower that blooms on a high, high cliff
It's so hard to reach
I know you know
So this time I will have to go on alone
A long time ago
In a tragedy
If ever comes a day
That I go away
In a forest deep
You will sink like a stone
From that moment on
You will go on alone
And I am one of a kind
When I walk, I am alone
I have grown weary
Lying to the bone
Now I bow my head
In this golden room
I was here with you
And now it's gone too soon
In a forest deep
I sank and I knew
I'm a charred and dirty
Forsaken fruit
And that is the end
There's nothing more to recount
From this moment on
I will go on alone
